Moycullen 45 : Corrib 24 Moycullen continued their unbeaten league run with an excellent win over local rivals, Corrib in Killannin last night.

The win was based on solid defence, excellent shooting – particularly from the free throw line, where they missed only one shot in the entire game. Amy Cooke & Sorcha White continued to show excellent defensive form and a great ability to contribute at the scoring end also.

The team do still have work to do to try to limit the amount of turnovers, the only blot on last might’s performance. Next up is a home game against Maree on Sunday week (5th Feb).

Moycullen 35 : Bearna 22

Moycullen finished the year with a 4 & 0 league record after this thirteen point win over Bearna .

The win seemed very unlikely after the first quarter when Bearna led 15 - 2 after a blistering start when they won all the individual contests on the court. However, the second five of Kate O’Brien, Mollie Finn, Aisling Corcoran, Catherine Connaire & Ailbhe Davoren turned the game around completely outscoring Bearna by the same margin in the second. Composure regained, the girls went on to record a comfortable win in the end with a final quarter margin of 13 – 4. The great strength of the team undoubtedly is that the scores can come from any of the squad – any one member can have an off day and a colleague will pick up the slack
